Community Foundation
Grace Bay Resorts Community Foundation was created with the purpose and commitment to contribute to the future of Turks and Caicos, the place we call home. Through our Foundation, the work of our staff and the generosity of our guests and partners, we are able to provide assistance to some of the most underprivileged schools to enhance educational opportunities locally. We encourage young talent to develop skills for future leadership, nurturing their personal growth and a sense of responsibility among the next generation.
Grace Bay Resorts is fully integrated within our community, and we proudly participate in two educational initiatives.
Adopt a School
We have adopted five primary schools on the Islands serving underprivileged youth. At the start of each school year we deliver backpacks filled with school supplies to the students. We also provide basic material necessities, furniture and equipment within the schools to help the teachers and administrators achieve their goals. Led by Dr. Carlton Mills, the ex-Minister of Education for Turks and Caicos, we are pleased by the positive results that our efforts continue to produce.
Scholarships
The Grace Bay Resorts Community Foundation sponsors students looking to continue their studies who may not otherwise have the resources to do so. We provide scholarships to those students who demonstrate a desire to succeed, particularly young people who combine a dedication to academics with a commitment to their community. We also assist in identifying local talent who may benefit from educational assistance to achieve their goals.
Like us, many visitors to Turks and Caicos have the desire to give back and support the future of the Islands with the best investment possible: a good education. Our guests regularly contribute to our Foundation and support our fundraising efforts throughout the year, and for that we are profoundly grateful.
Little Chefs Program
Our commitment to our community is further demonstrated by our participation in the Little Chef’s Program, which trains talented, dedicated youth from the Islands for careers in restaurant and hospitality industry. Through internships, high-school students gain experience at our resort as they work towards completing their studies in the culinary arts.
Corporate Social Responsibility
At Grace Bay Resorts, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is realized through our commitment to empower communities and protect Mother Earth. CSR is an integral part of our business model as we continue to make impactful actions that address key social and environmental challenges.
We are passionate about creating long-term, sustainable programs which will benefit everyone as well as promote sustainable travel and tourism practices to better preserve the planet we live in.
Opportunities
We aim to boost employment, hiring a majority of locals to form our team. We also have a special training and employment program for those with minor to moderate physical and mental disabilities, helping them to build confidence, sustain themselves and lead more meaningful lives.
Communities
We work closely with local organizations at the grassroots level, helping to build a solid foundation with our regular social awareness campaigns. Along with annual visits to charity homes during festive seasons and more on-ground activities, we are committed to helping develop a better tomorrow for future generations.
Environment
Eco-friendly initiatives are implemented in all our hotels with an aim to reduce wastage of precious natural resources and avoiding unnecessary harm to the environment while leaving the lightest possible footprint in course of our daily operations.
