Rock House Earns Green Key Certification
June 26, 2026 /As part of our commitment to sustainability, Rock House is proud to have achieved Green Key Certification, one of the hospitality industry’s leading standards for environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism.
The certification is awarded to hotels and tourism businesses that meet a set of environmental and sustainability criteria established by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). To earn Green Key status, properties undergo an independent assessment process, including an independent third-party on-site audit, to verify their practices and commitment to continuous improvement.
Earning Green Key certification reflects the work we’ve already been doing across the resort, including:
- Eliminating single-use plastics throughout the property
- A “Refill, No Landfill” program featuring complimentary reusable water bottles and filtered water stations throughout the resort
- Using a water-recycling irrigation system to reduce waste and conserve resources
- Maintaining a native plant nursery that supports local biodiversity
- Growing fresh herbs on-site for use in the resort’s culinary offerings
- Ongoing operational practices focused on reducing environmental impact while enhancing the guest experience.
Guests can also experience the resort’s connection to the natural environment along the Rock House Nature Trail, a half-mile walking path that winds through native vegetation found across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Sustainability has long been part of how Rock House operates, and achieving Green Key certification marks an important milestone in those efforts. Green Key is one of the world’s leading eco-certifications for the hospitality industry, recognizing properties that meet rigorous international standards across environmental management, energy conservation, water stewardship, waste reduction, staff engagement, and guest education.
Grace Bay Resorts is dedicated to building on its existing sustainability efforts to help create a more environmentally responsible future for the hospitality industry in Turks and Caicos while continuing to uphold Green Key standards across its operations.
The certification reflects Rock House’s ongoing efforts to preserve the natural beauty of Turks & Caicos through responsible operations, resource conservation, and sustainable guest initiatives.
