Rock House Recognized by The Leading Hotels of the World as a Sustainability Leader 

We’re proud to share that Rock House has been recognized as a Sustainability Leader by The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). 

This recognition reflects the work happening across the property every day, from water conservation and reducing single-use plastics to native landscaping and thoughtful design. Sustainability has been part of the Rock House vision from the beginning, shaping how the resort was built and how it continues to operate today. 

What does “Sustainability Leader” mean? 

The Leading Hotels of the World highlights Sustainability Leaders within its collection as hotels that demonstrate a strong commitment to responsible hospitality through environmental stewardship and thoughtful engagement with their local surroundings. For Rock House, sustainability is not a separate initiative. It is part of the resort’s ethos, influencing everything from design and landscaping to daily operations and the guest experience. 

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that many of these efforts are woven into the experience of staying at Rock House, while others work quietly behind the scenes to help reduce the property’s environmental impact. 

Sustainability in practice 

Across the resort, that commitment takes shape in several ways: 

• Maintaining a native plant nursery that supports local biodiversity and helps preserve the natural character of the property 

• Growing fresh herbs on-site for use in Rock House’s culinary offerings 

• Operating a “Refill, No Landfill” program with complimentary reusable water bottles and filtered water stations throughout the resort 

• Using a water-recycling irrigation system to conserve resources and reduce waste 

• Eliminating single-use plastics throughout the property 

• Continuously refining operational practices that reduce environmental impact while enhancing the guest experience
