Point Grace, the 28-suite hotel set at the point of the widest stretched award-winning Grace Bay Beach, in the Turks and Caicos Islands has been named number one of the Best Resorts in the Caribbean, Bermuda and Bahamas for Travel+ Leisure’s 2020 World’s Best Awards.

In addition, West Bay Club was also recognized in the top 25 Resorts in the Caribbean, Bermuda and Bahamas category.

The announcement was made at a July 28th, 2020 press conference, with speakers including Nikheel Advani, Grace Bay Resorts COO and Principal, Pamela Ewing, Director of Tourism for the Turks & Caicos Tourism Board, and Beverly Howell, the hotel’s General Manager.

Travel + Leisure is one of the most coveted awards in the hospitality industry and each year, consumers are asked to share their recent travel experiences by rating the world’s cities, islands, hotels, resorts, spas, ski mountains, and more.

Nikheel Advani, Grace Bay Resorts COO and Principal said it was the second time in a short span of a year that a Grace Bay Resort’s property was voted number one in the Turks and Caicos Islands by Travel and Leisure.

“As you may know, there two of our three properties which are West Bay Club and now this time Point Grace which is voted in the best 25 resorts of Travel and Leisure,” he said.

Advani noted that resorts run by women and Turks and Caicos Islanders are number one in the TCI and it’s a huge accomplishment.

“Not so long ago Condé Nast voted it number one in the Turks and Caicos and what it shows us is that resorts run by women and Turks and Caicos Islanders are number one in Turks and Caicos and this is a huge accomplishment.18 years ago when I came here somebody told me that I don’t think that will ever happen, well I am proud to say that it has happened and they were in those positions because they are the best at what they do.

They have worked very hard for many years and achieved greatness not alone but with their teams, because we’re only as good as our teams,” he explained.

Pamela Ewing Director of Tourism added, “It’s a real pleasure for me to be here to congratulate the Grace Bay Resorts, in particular, my friend Beverly Howell. This has been a long time coming. I can tell you that she has worked very hard, but I also want to say that I am very proud of her and as well Adelphine Pitter, General Manager of West Bay Club and Chairperson of the Tourism Board and all the work that they’ve had to do to get here. It makes me especially proud as a Turks and Caicos Islander to see two Turks and Caicos Islands women, as Nikheel had already alluded, to be able to get these awards.”

Beverly Howell General Manager, Point Grace shared this coveted award with her local community, officials, and team members at the Resort.

“It is truly an honor and indeed a pleasure to be recognized by Travel and Leisure World’s Best for 2020 as the number one resort in the Turks and Caicos and it is an awesome accomplishment. To our loyal guests, owners, travel partners, local community, we thank you for your support in achieving this award. As many of you know we have not reopened outdoors to welcome guests and we have some in house who are currently enjoying themselves and I think they especially feel like it’s their own hotel since it’s just them. During the months of closure we have dedicated our time to go through our protocols and processes to elevate the overall safety and wellbeing of our guests and owners who stay here with us at Point Grace on our little piece of paradise,” she said.

Howell said the resort feels privileged and are grateful to have a team of individuals who are sincerely dedicated to delivering exceptional handmade experiences.

“I take this opportunity to say a very special thank you to my team here at Point Grace because without them we wouldn’t be here receiving this award today. Your passion and drive attribute greatly to this coveted recognition by Travel and Leisure and we are excited for what the future has to offer. We also share the recognition today with our sister property West Bay Club who was also recognized in the top 25 resorts in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas. In celebration we look forward to many more times of celebration for Grace Bay Resort’s family and indeed Point Grace,” she added.

Winners of the World’s Best Awards go through many rounds of voting and no two years are the same. Travelers search around the world to find the best of the best within the hospitality industry, and the Readers’ Choice Awards truly celebrates one of a kind accommodations and experiences.
